The discussion with the IMT-GT working group on tourism on the potential project with ADB supporting the tourism recovery was held on 7 October 2021 via a virtual platform.

The meeting was chaired by Mr. Boonserm Khunkaew, Deputy Director, Department of Tourism, Ministry of Tourism and Sports, Thailand and attended by Head of Delegation Indonesia, Mr. Iman Sentosa, Deputy Director for ASEAN Regional and Sub-Regional Cooperation Directorate of Inter-Institutions Relations, Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia, Head of Delegation Malaysia Ms. Jellialive Ami, Principal Assistant Secretary, Tourism Policy and International Affairs Division, Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia and Director of CIMT Mr. Firdaus Dahlan.

The meeting was conducted to follow up the 27th IMT-GT Ministerial meeting with the objectives, among other namely; 1) to identify the potential projects for tourism; 2) To discuss the proposal to develop the IMT-GT special travel arrangement. The outcome of the meeting to be further discussed with ADB as the development partner of IMT-GT.
